Greetings my loves! February is here, which means we made it through the first month of 2021! Congrats!
However, February can be a tough time a lot of year for many gamers. Whether or not you’re in a relationship, the pressure of the looming VALENTINE’S DAY can mean a lot of expectation and stress. Being cooped up inside leaves us on social media, scrolling through photos of other people’s wildly romantic Valentine dates and perfect partners. Who can stop themselves from comparing their own love life to what they see online?
As a single woman, I feel the lonely sting during this time of year, but honestly… it’s mostly the result of social media making me feel inadequate. When you really think about it, people are often content with themselves until they start comparing themselves to others. It’s important to focus on self love when you start feeling this way. Think about what makes you special, and celebrate it!
That’s why I am dedicating the month of February to Self Love. What is self love? Appreciating yourself. Listening to your body and taking a break when you need it. Letting yourself celebrate an achievement instead of playing it down. Looking in the mirror, making eye contact with that hottie that you see in the reflection and saying, “I love you.” Being kind to yourself and treating yourself to something special.
This month, I am going to focus my social media on encouraging everyone to love themselves a little bit more this month. I know it’s been a hard year for everyone, but when you practice gratitude and self love… life just feels a little easier. I’m going to post excerpts from “Heart Talk” and “Everything Grows with Love” to share some thoughtful messages. I’m going to open up discussions about self love on my Twitch streams, and I’ll be playing Hatoful Boyfriend on Wig Out Wednesdays.
Offline, I’m also going to treat myself with roses, chocolates, lingerie and a new sex toy! Not having a Valentine doesn’t mean I can’t have a solo date night, am I right? (Obviously this part isn’t going to be on Twitch haha!) The best part about being my own Valentine is that I know exactly what presents to buy! 🥳 😏
I want everyone to know that it’s okay if you don’t have great feelings about Valentine’s Day. You’re not alone! The best way to respond when you feel this way is to treat yourself to some self love, whatever that means to you. Because you are a unique being on this planet and you were meant to be here. And you deserve love. 💗
