Well, it turns out that Japan wasn’t the only country to have a festival about the moon this week.  Not sure how I missed this before, but there was a bulletin regarding the Autumn Moon posted on the 3rd:

So in the evening yesterday, I went to the Town Hall to talk to Tortimer about this whole moon business.  He gave me a very scientific explanation:

I thought this was very interesting.  I had always thought the equinox was on September 21st.  But I’m not a biologist, geologist, or any kind of -ologist so what do I know?  LOL  I stand corrected.  I checked out the moon to see if I could notice a difference.

I dunno.  It looks kinda the same.  Maybe it’s a little yellower than usual?  Even that is a bit of a stretch.  Ahh well.  Tortimer was giving out items in celebration of this festival.  In the US, he was handing out Wheat Bundles.  (I guess they are from ‘the harvest’?  lol)

It’s pretty ugly and whatnot but I’ll take any free gifts I can get!  Hehehehe!  So, of course I logged in using the rest of my characters to get extra wheat bundles.  Twinx and Dan needed to retrieve their wondrous ‘pile of leaves’ DLC from Pete as well.  *grumbles*  As Dan was wandering around the ‘townie section’, he almost did a double-take.  There was a new house in the space where Gala/Bree’s house used to be.  That one house location must be PRIME realty in Shaolin, because townies ALWAYS move there if it’s vacant!  How strange.  Anyway, he went in to greet the newest resident.

Puck is most likely my new candidate for favorite character in town.  Why?  First of all, I like penguins.  Secondly, his name is Puck, and me and my bf are hockey fanatics.  Third, he’s wearing a hockey helmet!  Fourth, he’s from TOKYO!  LOL!  What’s not to like??

Back to business.  The Autumn Moon festival also occurred in the EU last night.  I thought I had missed out, but luckily my good friend Ifetayo had set back the clock in Firdawsi by one day, so I was able to go to her town to get their Autumn Moon item… which is a Veggie Basket.

Thanks Ifetayo!  I was able to pick up three of these items, so if you need to grab one, stop by when the Shaolin gates are open!  I’ll probably open the gates TONIGHT (Monday) around 11pm EST.  Feel free to join me!

While I was in Firdawsi, Vella stopped by as well!  So we all went down to the beach to show Ifetayo how to climb her lighthouse.  She’s lucky enough to have a lighthouse like the one in Shaolin, which has just the right amount of space on the right side to engage the glitch that makes the whole trick work.

Well, that’s one event under our belts this month.  Coming up next is the EU DLC, which should start on 10/7 with the first Nintendog.  I believe it will be a yellow labrador.  CUUUUUTE!!  Can’t wait.  And of course Explorer’s Day is 10/12.  So dust off your AC:CF disc and start playing cuz there’s still a lot of fun stuff to do in October!!
